Snapshots from AQS Paducah QuiltWeek 2024

April 26, 2024

2024 Marks the 40th Anniversary of the American Quilter’s Society shows in Paducah, Kentucky, and I’m thrilled to be at the show again this year. I am vending for the first time this year, and the last few days have been a whirlwind. I’m looking forward to sharing some more in-depth thoughts in the coming weeks, but today, I wanted to share some snapshots from the 2024 show.

The 40th-anniversary banner for AQS greets you as you enter the convention center lobby.

I’m Vending this Year!

This is my first vendor booth at AQS in Paducah. If you are at the show, please visit me at the Dome Pavillion in booth 4212!

The Awards Ceremony

Susan Cleveland hosted the awards ceremony on Tuesday evening of QuiltWeek.

The Quilt Show

The Dome Pavillion (where my vendor booth is located) isn’t open during preview night, so I could see the show, including my quilt, Where We Connect.
Honorable Mention received an upgrade this year—it now includes a cash prize and a much fancier ribbon! Kelly Spell received the honorable mention award in the Modern Category.
This aisle from the upstairs contest quits includes a fun layout featuring two of Elizabeth Ray’s quilts directly across the aisle from each other!
The display of miniature quilts is always a hit at the AQS Paducah show.
Many special exhibits are found throughout the show, including the Cherrywood Challenge in the upstairs area of the show.

The National Quilt Museum

I was delighted to see Infused Plaid, my quilt in the permanent collection of the NQM, on display in the central gallery.

The Miniature Gallery in the National Quilt Museum. My mini quilt, Converging Curves, is the quilt furthest to the left on the grey wall.

The Yeiser Center

The Yeiser Center is in Downtown Paducah and hosts the Fantastic Fibers exhibit during QuiltWeek.
This display of contemporary fiber-based art is an excellent complement to the main QuiltWeek contest quilts.

What are your highlights?

Are you at the Paducah QuiltWeek show? What are your show highlights so far, both at the main show and around town?

Cassie your booth looked fantastic! I have set up many booths in my day (never quilts) so I know the work and even more importantly the thought process that goes into the set up! You get an A+. Love your displayed quilt! Keep up the good work and enjoy the life trip!

Loved seeing the beautiful quilts that are in the video that you sent to me. I live in Porter, TX and don’t get to go anymore to the quilting shop, so far from home.
Thanks for remembering me and keeping me posted your Friend Sharon Frankenberger
