Foundation Paper Piecing Irregular Shapes QuiltCon 2024

Class Description

Foundation Paper Piecing make for extremely accurate piecing and perfect points, but one of its most exciting uses is the creation of blocks using irregularly shaped components. Blocks and quilts with a wide range of irregular shapes may look complex, but they are easier than they look once you have experience with a few techniques and tips. In this class, you will choose one of three animal patterns to sew using the techniques we focus on in class.

Student Experience: Intermediate

Required class fee: $12 for the printed pattern and foundation templates. This can be pre-paid (see Pattern and Kit section below) or paid in class. Pre-paying will guarantee that you will receive the pattern of your choice.

All patterns, kits, and supplies will be delivered in person at the beginning of class!

Basic sewing kit with small scissors/snips and pencil

Clover clips (5-10)
Small cutting mat and rotary cutter (optional since mats and rotary cutters are in the classroom, but nice to have at your sewing station)

Patterns and Kits

All patterns, kits, and supplies will be delivered in person at the beginning of class!

One pattern is required for the class. You may choose to purchase additional patterns and/or kits now or in class if you would like.

Pattern Only

You may choose to pre-pay the class fee and guarantee you will get your first choice pattern. The pattern is $12 and covers the class fee.

Pattern and Fabric

The kit for 2024 includes the pattern and fabric for one animal block of your choice and is priced at $24. This INCLUDES the class fee, so you will not need to pay anything during class.
