Happy holidays to all who celebrate this season! This year we are looking at another quiet celebration, but a couple of fun projects have been happening.
It has now become tradition to include some Aurifil themed cookies with the more standard holiday selections. I made the cookie cutter in a 3-D printing workshop several years ago at one of our amazing public libraries.
This year I went with green spools, which indicate 40wt thread that was featured in the 2021 Color Builder Collection!
A small quilting group I am in did a handmade ornament exchange this year, and I used some decorative machine quilting to create this cheerful star ornament. I have enjoyed doing some felt experimentation with felt this year, and I’m thinking about making some more of these! Since the edges don’t fray, I just did a straight stitch around the edge, and the opening for the stuffing blends right in. The front and back of this star have the same design. If you would like to make some stars of your own, you can download the star outline templates below to mix and match your favorite sizes.
