Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day 2016

Sew Mama Sew is once again hosting the annual giveaway day, and I am so excited to offer a small giveaway of my own this time around!  To make it even better, TWO winners will each receive two magazines and a digital pattern!

I have been fortunate to have my work included in several magazines this year including these issues of 100 Blocks and Generation Q.  These are both packed with inspiration for all sorts of quilt-y projects!

For added fun, I will also send the winner a PDF of my pattern for my Rainbow Rotary Mini Quilt in three sizes.

Here’s how to enter:

  1. Leave a comment on this post.  I would love to hear about a specific challenge you have encountered in quilting or a technique you want to conquer in 2017.  Please note if you are inside or outside the United States. (Please see #3 for details)
  2. The winners will be determined by a random drawing.
  3. There will be TWO lucky winners of this giveaway.  One winner will be drawn from all entries.  The second winner will be drawn from US entries only.  (I wish I could do an international drawing for both, but shipping costs can get out of control so easily)
  4. The drawing is open through Sunday, December 11 at 5pm PST (8pm EST)
  5. The winners will be announced by Wednesday, December 14, and prizes will be shipped by Friday December 16.  The winners will be notified by email and listed on the blog.  It is each winner’s responsibility to respond with their mailing address by 11:59pm on Thursday, December 15.  If I do not receive this information by this time, another winner will be drawn.
  6. Make sure you check out all of the other fabulous giveaways linked up at Sew Mama Sew!

Update:  Thank you so much for entering!  I normally do my best to respond to comments, but due to the volume of giveaway posts I won’t be able to respond individually.  Your answers will help me determine what to blog about in the coming year!  Thank you!

Congratulations ladies!  I have sent you each an email as well.

Thank you all so much for all of your suggestions for tutorials you would like to see in the coming year!  A lot of people are interested in seeing more on various types of machine quilting, so I will plan to incorporate some more posts on that topic in 2016!

Win Edge to Edge Longarm Quilting for Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day!

Update:  This Giveaway is now closed.  Congratulations Lauren!

Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day rolls around twice a year and today I am thrilled to offer free edge to edge quilting for a lap or twin sized quilt.  It is such an honor to be involved in your creative endeavors, and I love to help you bring your quilt tops one step closer to being used and cherished by your loved ones.Edge to Edge Quilting Services

I quilt on a computerized A-1 Elite machine, guaranteeing beautiful, accurate stitches.  The edge to edge designs I am currently offering are all quilting patterns that I have created myself using AutoCad.

Interlocking is my most popular design, and it looks great with a variety of contemporary quilt styles.  Graphic block based quilts, improvisationally pieced designs, whole cloth quilts, and T-shirt quilts all look great with this quilting design.

Floral Spirals has a whimsical feel and is a lovely way to soften a graphic pieced design or add interest to a simply pieced or whole cloth/panel quilt.

I am adding new designs all the time, and I can also work with you to create a customized edge to edge pattern to coordinate with your fabrics or quilt top.

This giveaway will be for quilting services for one quilt that is up to 6,000 square inches, but I still have plenty of openings available if you would like to have your quilts done for Christmas!  My edge to edge quilting rates are 2 cents per square inch.  (To calculate the square inches, multiply the quilt top length by the quilt top width.  For example a quilt measuring 50″ x 70″ would be 3,500 square inches.  Multiply that by .02 to determine the quilting cost.  3,500 x .02 = $70.00 )  Please email me at cassandra(at)thenotsodramaticlife(d0t)com if you would like more information about the quilting services I currently offer.

Update:  This Giveaway is now closed.  Congratulations Margaret!

Rainbow Rotary is one of the most popular mini quilt that I have shared this year, and now the pattern is available on Craftsy!  For Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day, I am happy to offer a PDF pattern of this quilt in three different sizes!

Inspired by my love of the Courthouse Steps quilt block, this quilt reinterprets the traditional block into a wedge shape to create a ring of color. This is the perfect project to show off all of the vibrantly colored fabrics in your scrap box, and a great opportunity to share fabric with friends.

Templates are included to create this pattern in three sizes:

  • Micro Mini:    9.25″ x 9.25″
  • Mini:                18.5″ x 18.25″  (this size is pictured above)
  • Macro Mini:    24″ x  24″

I am currently offering this pattern as a “template only” pattern, which allows for a relatively low price of $4.  General instructions are offered, but detailed written directions and step by step diagrams for foundation paper piecing are not included.  I believe quilters with previous experience paper piecing will enjoy constructing this mini quilt.  (My free block pattern, Summer Starburst, does include detailed instruction on foundation paper piecing if you are interested in learning the technique!)
